So when I bought a scope a month ago we've had nothing but cloud since.
Now Ive sold a scope can we have a month of clear skies?

mmmmm, not sure it works like that Rab! You see, you caused cloud with your purchase and in turn when you sold your other bit of kits the buyer of that then caused more cloud......
I also think the amount of cloud is directly proportional to either a) the size of the optics. or b) the amount spent......
We have to stop spending altogether I think.....

Personally I still think we are still recovering from James receipt of the 16" dob and
 your receipt of the 12" Gary.... let alone anybodies else's purchase of a new scope...  :-\

might also be able to blag club discounts or bulk buys.

A 16" and a 12" together is really asking for trouble.
I'd say the clouds may persist until about 2015 after that kind of double whammy.
Mind you, having had the Great Oban Cloudiness of 2011/12, which persisted from September until April, it won't make any difference here.
I believe it was caused by merely logging on to the Telescope House website.
If I actually bought something I'd cause something akin to a nuclear winter.
