Yep seems to be the way now!

Has anyone considered starting a CSOG FB page? We do have a East Lothian astronomy group but don't know of a page for Central Scotland?

Oh are you not John ?  Would you not have one if you have a WhatsApp account as its the same
company.

Hows your observatory doing ?  Is it all up and running and are you getting much use out of it ?

I had a Whatsapp account before facebook bought it and as it's useful I didn't close it.   I haven't found a use for facebook though.
Th obsy is fine although I had to do some repairs recently.   I get the odd couple of hours in it but the lack of decent clear nights prevents it being used as much as I'd like.

One good thing is after chatting with a neighbour we had the laylandii cut right back giving me much more sky to look at.

Hehe well done on getting the tree cut back to make more sky available, you must of
had a skip in your step after that one.

Not so good if you haven't been able to make much use of the observatory.  I
must admit I always thought having an observatory means your much better able to
take advantage of short periods of clear skies like last night for example.  Hopefully
you get more use out of it in the weeks to come, its got to be much better than filling the car
and driving to harperrig :)

Hi - I've been checking very occasionally.

New to group and astronomy this year (with proper telescope, anyway) and really looking for advice for local dark sky sites around Edinburgh/East Lothian.

Hello there.

Hi All

Still a few die-hards are sticking with the forum. We tried a trip out with the gear to Moorfoot last night in hope rather than anything else but the cloud just would'nt shift (apologies, we should have posted the trip on the forum!). Anyone is welcome to come along and join in with the general moan about cloudy skies (socially distancing, of course!). We'll post in advance any impromptu trips out to dark sky sites in the future.

Fingers crossed for dark skies and a virus free future.

Cheers James
