NEQ6
« on: February 03, 2012, 09:48:31 AM »
Ok peeps, blame me again if weather takes a turn for the worse, just taken possession of a second hand NEQ6 pro,  :o   less than a year old. Doing a bit of head scratching, but hopefully get set up soon. Also got an ADM dovetail to stiffen up the setup so fingers crossed she'll do the business.

If I get through this training course I've been on for the last 4 weeks (and it's very intense) :-\ , I may get a bit of life back and be able to get some wee white sparkly things dazzling me eyes once more.  :) :) :) :)

Maybe when you've worked out how to get it set up you could give me a clue? :)

I know I've not had it long, but, I haven't yet worked out how to set up my HEQ5 properly...  :'(

Never mind.  There'll be a clear night along soon.

There's a lot you can do in daylight to initially prepare your mount for use and also to practice setting up.

The Astronomy Shed tutorials are a great place to start.  Although Dion does waffle on a bit all of his advice and methodology is good and sound.   Start here with part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/user/astronomyshed?blend=1&ob=0#p/u/32/4fO6hyYtPwM

oops, this should have gone into the Harperrig - Wednesday 8th Feb? thread.
