Adaptor help
« on: December 05, 2011, 11:04:09 PM »
Hi all, I have attached a picture of a 2" adaptor I have. My question is, are there any adaptors available which is shorter than this one. Mine is 35mm from the circular dovetail collar to the top of the adaptor - ideally I would like something which has the dovetail, then the collar with around 5mm to the top. Hope I'm making sense here

Hi Gaz,
Just think it will help with dslr attachments, inward focus etc. Also possibly help with collimation, although I stand to be corrected there lol. - I'll keep you posted if I get what I'm after.

Do you have the 1.25" adaptor to match that? Looks like my old skywatcher one. I know the 1.25" skywatcher splits to reveal a thread that is closer to the dovetailed collar.

Hi Lorne, yeah got one but it's not a 2" diameter hole which is what I need.

Thanks anyway

Hmmmm whats its purpose, just an extension tube ?

I'd agree with Gary, Bern or Ian King might be the best folks
to talk to, or teleskop-express in germany.

Yeah, whats it for?

Just to help with in focus etc. The other adaptor is pushing everything away from focus so I thought something along these lines may help.

Surely something like this :

http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p4018_TS-Adapter-auf-2--mit-Ringklemmung-fuer-Skywatcher-Newtons.html

Would screw onto the end of the focuser draw tube meaning
you can just use a 2" extension tube ?
