Turned out good Wullie, similar to what was seen at the eyepiece.

Nice one Wullie. Now I know what to tell Lorne I can see in the eyepiece when he tells me he's managed to find it ;D   I'm kidding of course, but I reckon the seeing has been exceptional the last week or so when it has been clear.  I wonder if there is a proper scientific explanation for it?

Iain,
The position of the Veil in the sky just now makes it easier to see, M31 on the other hand is not as good as its over the Edinburgh light bubble.

Nice one - I had it in the eyepiece visually and could still hardly see it

I think I've tried a couple of times and failed miserably.  Got to get out there soon if it's in prime position at the moment :)
