Seben Laser Collimator

got this in this morning only 5 day post from germany well happy going to have a look at the dob and see how good its alined  :)
it has the 7 bright settings so there not a lot of glare off the laser when in the dark  :)

You need to check the laser is itself collimated first. I had the same one but it was off so I sold it as I'm lazy.

I think they are massed produced in China and then stickered up by individual companies. Mine had a difference of about 3" when rotated from about 3m away. There are screws to collimate it but I was too lazy. Yours will probably be ok but I would check before you start messing with your mirrors.

I had a read up on this laser collimator before deciding to get a Cheshire one instead. To adjust the laser beam, you need to remove the two rubber barrells to access the hex screws.


There's a nifty (read: cheap) guide on how to check if your laser collimator needs collimating here. Hope that helps.


But yes, it's quite important to do as using the laser to collimate the mirrors is only going to align them correctly if the laser light itself is parallel!

thanks for the info. a made my own stand to adjust it and you was right was off a good bit so have set it up taking the 3 bit of rubber out and only adjust 2 of them with a pice of paper and put to marks for a guide when adjust it now all good and done the scope jobs a good one  ;D

4 nails hammered into wood making 2 Xs work just as well :)

taking me an hour to make and 5 mins to get it alined just need to paint it now and that will be it.

a seen a pic with some one using nails as long it got the job done.
