Albireo test shot
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:48:59 PM »
I ventured out tonight for the first time in about 3 months. Tried a few test shots to get everything connected and working again. Although it was only for test purposes, quite pleased with this shot of Albireo. Just about dark enough to start imaging again I think.
Been messing around with the alignment of my Baader coma corrector too. Seems to have worked - stars are round up to the edge of the frame (this pic is cropped though).

200m f/5 newtonian, EQ6/EQMOD unguided
Canon 350D unmodded, MPCC, 15x10s subs ISO 400, darks
Processed in Nebulosity and PS CS5

Thanks. Nice to get the first image of the season. Good to finally have the image train aligned properly too. In case anyone else has trouble with the Skywatcher focussers (and they're not the best are they!), I bought this attachment:

http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p4018_TS-Adapter-auf-2--mit-Ringklemmung-fuer-Skywatcher-Newtons.html

Keeps things in place without tilting the components. Helps with getting sufficient in-focus for DSLRs too.
Feels really well-made.

Just the basic 200P Kathleen, with the single speed Crayford.
