Flats help
« on: April 05, 2013, 09:41:49 PM »
I'm in the garden grabbing subs of M51 and Arrrgh!! they've got dark circles on them.   Never had to deal with this yet so I'm wondering would a Teeshirt over the scope and illuminated by the laptop with a white screen be ok for flats?

John (who'll have to do this later tonight)

dark circles ? you mean dust bunnies John ?

Well yeah I guess thats one way of grabbing flats but you may not get
an even illumination from a laptop screen which is what you looking for
with a flat.

I'm not sure if they are dust bunnies as they do not have the usual doughnut shape.  I wonder if condensation has formed then dried leaving a watermark after I brought everything in from outside.

I won't know until I disassemble everything for an investigation and a good clean.

Thanks Kat.
