Friend is looking for a camera for his daughter. This looks pretty good to me for the budget?

Any opinions?

Looks a decent enough camera to me mate. I had a Finepix S5600 a while back, it took good pics in auto mode (I didn't understand how to use the other modes back then, lol)
For the money, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better new camera.

Gaz
Skywatcher star discovery 150p
Canon 1000d
Philips spc900 webcam
Loads of other bits n bobs

Everything will be OK in the end, if its not OK its not the end........

I have one, its a good camera. Being a bridge camera it's ideal for all sorts of situations. Its fairly light and is pretty controllable in manual mode. ISO goes from 64-6400, shutter from 8" to 1/2000. Apperture is sort of controllable. The one thing I dont like is you cant manually focus, its all auto, bit of a pain. It does have a great lens, its on of the 'high optical zoom' type cameras. I also use it on my scope with an afocal mounting, its good beacuse I can zoom in and out optically. Overall I think its one of the best bridge cameras, I have had a few. For info, I got a quick shot of the Moon last night with it, see below. This shot is through the camera only. Its at full optical zoom + a bit of digital zoom

That shot was just with the camera only on a tripod using its optical zoom + a bit of digital. Its not through the scope. I do have an afocal mount I made for it though out of some spare plastic plumbing supplies. Works surprisingly well!
